-Election campaigns are heating up in Kenya
-Various campaign teams are battling each other both online and offline in a bid to get their candidates to be favored by the electorate
The race for the Uasin Gishu gubernatorial seat has taken a new turn.
Top aspirants for the seat include the incumbent Jackson Mandago, billionaire business mogul Kiprop Bundotich, as well as Dr. Edward Serem, who is the county’s health chief officer.
With the current polls on the top favorite for the seat favoring Bundotich, governor Mandago’s team has tried all illegal and crooked ways to ensure they tarnish his name and reputation in a bid to make him look bad in the eyes of the electorate.
Just last evening, former KQ hostess Priscilla Kolongei came out to condemn and vindicate Bundotich, whom Mandago’s team claim was involved in the case that led to her imprisonment. Kolongei accused Mandago of stooping to the lowest levels in order to get people to vote for him instead, but this has since fallen flat on the governor’s face as everything he tries fails.
Today, a fake letter created by JACOB MASWAI purporting to be from the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) with a forged signature of Veronica Maina, has been doing rounds online.
What is uncanny about the letter though is the fake facts it presents such as the date which reads 6th January 2017, Veronica Maina’s grammar which seems to be of very low standards seeing as she is a lawyer, and her signature is forged. The Jubilee party logo is also not the correct one.
The letter also has no official stamp from the Jubilee party or from the Kenya National Examinations Council. What’s more, it is not printed on the official Jubilee party paper which has the watermark logo of the party.
The letter has since been dismissed by the Jubilee party officials as a FAKE LETTER, and the party has since reported this case to the authorities, who have intensified their leads to finding the culprits.
What Kenyans should note however, is that Mr. Bundotich made payments today as seen on the receipt below, and not on 6th January as indicated on the letter.
This means that he has PASSED ALL REQUIRED LEGAL CLEARANCES TO RUN FOR THE ELECTIVE POST, that is the gubernatorial seat in Uasin Gishu County.
The Jubilee party officially gave Bundotich full clearance to vie for the Uasin Gishu gubernatorial seat.
The list of bloggers names including that of Jacob Maswai has been sent out by the Jubilee party to private investigators, who will bring the perpetrators distributing the information to book.
